  1. Not too terrible for one of these lists i suppose. Most of these songs are pretty hard to argue with (i would definitely reorder a bunch of em though) but no metal at all? As much as Enter Sandman makes me want to gag when i hear it now, that shit was a pretty big deal when it came out.

  2. All lists are subjective. This is a list of very good and great songs from the 90s from artists everyone safely knows. Much of what was chosen are the artists most popular songs that were released as singles, but certainly not their best songs.

  3. As other Reddit users have mentioned, the above selections represent the most popular songs from each respective artist. Having acknowledged such discrepancies, I find this work demonstrative of two leading ’90s genres: alternative rock and rap/hip-hop. Leading artists of musical avenues, such as Nirvana and 2Pac, helped amass large followings to grunge and gangsta rap, but the overall hits of this decade came from alt-rock and general rap.
